I think this is another example of him showing his solidarity with the human race &#8211; and therefore God&#8217;s solidarity with the human race. As Brian Wren has it, <br><em>&#8220;Not throned above, remotely high,<br>untouched, unmoved by human pains<br>but daily, in the midst of life,<br>our Saviour, in the Godhead reigns.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God of love,<br>may your kingdom come<br>on this planet,<br>in this dust,<br>in this atmosphere,<br>in these oceans.<br>Help us be safe from the consequences<br>of our own fear<br>and our own selfishness.<br>Take away our fear of being out-competed.<br>Take away our selfishness.<br>May this world sing again<br>songs of praises to its Creator.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, in next Sunday&#8217;s lectionary, Jesus gets baptised.
