{"id":1510,"date":"2020-08-17T11:13:33","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T10:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bobjanet.org.uk\/bobsblog\/?p=1510"},"modified":"2020-08-17T11:13:33","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T10:13:33","slug":"the-sound-of-a-different-drum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bobjanet.org.uk\/bobsblog\/2020\/08\/17\/the-sound-of-a-different-drum\/","title":{"rendered":"The sound of a different drum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A couple of bits from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu\/texts.php?id=156\" target=\"_blank\">next Sunday&#8217;s Lectionary<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Isaiah 51:4 &#8230; <em>&#8220;Listen to me, my people, and give heed to me, my nation; for a teaching will go out from me, and my justice for a light to the peoples.&#8221;<\/em> and from Romans 12:2 &#8230; <em>&#8220;Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God&#8211;what is good and acceptable and perfect.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are the people of God, and we dance to the sound of a different drum. It doesn&#8217;t mean that we shall always be perfect, or even consistent. Hypocrisy will creep in sometimes.
